[Bug 279077] New: ddclient can't handle startproc/checkproc
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=279077 Summary: ddclient can't handle startproc/checkproc Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: volker3204@paradise.net.nz QAContact: qa@suse.de This bug is in 10.2, it persists in 10.3a4 / factory. It is not #229460, and not #267306, and not #268138 startproc/checkproc rely for their operation on the process listing returning a correct $0 argument. However, ddclient heavily overwrites $0, so checkproc always fails. Attached patch (against 10.2) makes it work for me. Also here's support for another ADSL modem manufacturer's model: # For the Dynalink RTA1320 ADSL modem: fw-login=xxxx, fw-password=xxxx use=fw, fw=http://192.168.16.254/wancfg.cmd?action=view, fw-skip='<td>' -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Will work on this as soon as time permits. Regarding the Dynalink RTA1320 ADSL modem support: it's better to report this back upstream. Do you want to, or should I do? And I think we should sent the attached patch upstream either. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=279077 ------- Comment #3 from volker3204@paradise.net.nz 2007-05-31 04:17 MST ------- I had emailed a problem summary with a reference to this report to wimpunk at sourceforge. The RTA1320 has a broken dyndns implementation which only updates when the IP changes. After 30 days without IP change the dyn name drops off the Internet. Hence ddclient in daemon mode, reading the IP address from the modem every few minutes (I didn't see it supporting any transparent bridge mode in the web gui). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
