On SLE as a first step a subvolume @ is created where all things are installed into. The idea was AFAIR that you could in theory install several systems on one btrfs into different subvolumes.

From the technical point of view it should be safe to use the SLE values for openSUSE (after all we have a common code base). Whether the customers get annoyed I cannot say. Whether somebody cares about annoyed customers I can also not say.
