There were several changes yast-ui was separeted from yast2-core and now it is ycp-ui-bindings. It is necessary to do better analyse if it is possible and how to do it. IMHO adding similar heuristic for using UI which is done in /sbin/yast2 is not way hot to solve problem. Function init_ui() is necessary because there exist cases which don't require UI and it is not necessary init UI (save resources).
