[Bug 290399] New: Bind (DNS) fails with error "gss_initialize fatal error: no mechanisms loaded"
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=290399 Summary: Bind (DNS) fails with error "gss_initialize fatal error: no mechanisms loaded" Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rdills@wooster.edu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer After updating from SLES 10 to SLES 10 SP1, BIND will periodically fail with the error "gss_initialize fatal error: no mechanisms loaded" in the messages log. The error will often be found on regular intervals that occur regardless of the start time of the service and/or server. The regular time periods do not appear to prescribe to any scheduled server based cron activities. Investigations of the activity have suggested that the cause of the issue is initiated by Microsoft OS workstations that are not AD domain members doing DNS lookups. The BIND error frequency appears to be directly linked to the activity of these workstations. No configuration changes were made to DNS or the workstations before the update to SLES-SP1. To this point, attempts to use updates for kerberos packages have not helped resolve the issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
