https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=749888 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=749888#c0 Summary: Unable to install on a usb device from a live cd. fail to switch to installed system Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Milestone 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: d0m1n1k@gmx.net QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0 3 drives. hda is windows 7, should be untouched hdb is the 4 gig usb stick containing the image hdc is the target device, a 16 gig sdhc class 6 card in a logilink sd/sdhc/microsd reader install starts fine, but when the root image is transferred, yast fails to switch to the system. this happened with 12.1 too, but i think its a bit late to fix it there :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. transferred MS1 with the imagestudio (or however that thing is called) to the 4 gig stick 2. boot from that stick and start installation 3. change boot options so that sdc is the first device in boot order of grub and mbr of sda stays untouched, further enable write grub to root and from sdc. i let yast create the partition layout but remove the swap and extend the / partition so that about 7 gig are for / and 7 for /home.
