Since update to Kernel 4.10.0 a few days ago, setting regulatory domain via iw reg set or through udev/crda fails. On 42.2 system logs are filled with systemd-udevd[20429]: Process '/usr/sbin/crda' failed with exit code 251. every few seconds. (I assume the only reason I don't see this on 42.1 is the older version of systemd.) Some additional information: - First, I tried Kernel 4.9.11 (the last 4.9.x in Kernel:stable) and the problem is not present there _ Trying to run crda manually (yes, I know this has to fail) gives some interesting additional information. On Kernels < 4.10.0: crda COUNTRY environment variable not set. COUNTRY=DE crda ; echo $? Failed to set regulatory domain: -7 249 On Kernel 4.10.0: COUNTRY=DE crda ; echo $? nl80211 not found. 251 So here is our error code 251 again.
