[Bug 338964] New: konqueror browsing lauches gimp
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=338964 Summary: konqueror browsing lauches gimp Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: happytoken@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- This is a bizzare problem I am getting with the konqueror file browser. The problem occured after the following: 1) right-click a .jpg and select 'open with'->'other'. 2) select 'GNU Image Manipulation Program' application from the list. 3) check the box for 'remember application association for this file type'. 4) the 'updating system configuration dialog box appears'. Once this step is completed, you can not launch konqueror file browser from the kpanel. When you click the icon, the 'gimp' application is launched with an error message 'opening /home/john failed: is a directory'. Opening through the kde menu also produces the same result. However, opening via the 'My Computer' icon on the desktop does not produce this problem. sysinfo:/ seems to open up as usual. From the sysinfo:/ page, selecting 'My Documents', 'Home folder' also produces the problem. It is possible to browse the filesystem from sysinfo:/ page by typing the path in the location bar. when you press enter, the desired path contents appears. I have tried rebooting the computer - no effect. I have removed the 'GNU Image Manipulation Program' association from .jpg files - no effect. Note: I have GIMP v2.4 installed. Hope someone can work it out.
