[Bug 222566] New: using vnc.so results in kernel hanging/disables mutiple X servers
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222566 Summary: using vnc.so results in kernel hanging/disables mutiple X servers Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: fi@igh-essen.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com I configured X using vnc.so. On my system I run an Nvidia X Server (compiled against the 10.1 default kernel sources) starting a second X server (by "startx -- :2") results in system hanging. On 10.0 systems without Nvidia X server I only observed, that it became impossible to launch a second X server. Trying to start crashed the startx procedure. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Does this also happen when using the OpenSource driver ("nv")?
I am not sure. I will try as soon as possible (the machine is production critical, so I can check that next weekend) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Don't hesitate to reopen it again if you still can reproduce it with openSUSE >= 10.2.
