It sometimes works but often locks up on startup. Sometimes the icon is displayed but clicking on it doesn't do a thing. At other times, it just doesn't show up on startup or when added. It does something tho and the panel thinks it's added. It also sometimes lock up the whole panel. The panel doesn't show up at all or doesn't respond to input or update the disaply (cpu status or clock). Removing deskbar applet solves the problem. Is CPU status the CPU frequency applet? If yes, then it's even more surprising since it's an external process, so it should still update even when the panel itself is blocked. Can you remove all your deskbar applets, then run /usr/lib/deskbar-applet/deskbar-applet in a terminal and add deskbar again? Please do so until you can reproduce one issue, and paste the output here.
