Absolutely not! I only have those symptoms with M6. This laptop has no display problems. 11.2 is fine, installation of 12.3 M5 was fine, installed M6 without compiz is fine. During the install the display flicked in accordance with my actions moving the mouse or selecting certain actions. No sir, there are no problems with the hardware. I tried the game "extreme-tuxracer", the screen flickers so much as to be unusable. I started it from a terminal, and I see a lot of messages like this: Couldn't reference dri2 back buffer handle 0x00000004: No such file or directory Couldn't reference dri2 back buffer handle 0x00000004: No such file or directory Couldn't reference dri2 back buffer handle 0x00000004: No such file or directory And, glxgears renders 62 FPS, both in small window or full screen. In the same machine, with 11.2 installed, glxgears runs at 400 FPS on a window, and about 62 maximized. And etracer runs without a flicker. Those two apps use advanced video features, and work much worse in 11.3 than in 11.2 - as I feared.
