[Bug 1022050] New: Unpainted areas
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1022050 Bug ID: 1022050 Summary: Unpainted areas Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org Assignee: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: mse00000@gmail.com QA Contact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 711734 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=711734&action=edit Testprogram While testing MSEide+MSEgui on Leap 42.2 on a Acer Veriton M4640G I found that there are unpainted areas. For example the attached test program does not draw the text, see wrong.png. 32 bit openSUSE 13.2 on the same machine shows the correct result, see ok.png. If line 54 of the test program is commented or line 58 is uncommented the display is OK. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I've created xorg-x11-server RPMs with the patch applied. Could you give them a > try, please?
Fixed. :-) Thank you very much. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Since this patch has been added it has introduced a new issue. Monitors will no longer power off according to the power management settings but will only blank instead, even if blank is set to "never". A "xset dpms force off" command will succeed however. Reverting this patch fixes the issue.
This sounds completely unrelated to the patch. Other patches have been applied on top of this meanwhile. But if things work with xset dpms force off this looks more like a regression in your desktop than a regression in the Xserver. I suggest to open a bugreport against the desktop component instead. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
