[Bug 333666] New: Network Manager doesn's see devices
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=333666 Summary: Network Manager doesn's see devices Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ajohansson@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- opensuse 10.3 boxed version, 64 bit. Fresh install, not an update Network Manager completely fails to see my network cards, both knetworkmanager and nm-tool just say "no devices found" Selecting "traditional method with ifup" works perfectly I have installed on another machine as well, and there NetworkManager seems to work. But that is a 32 bit machine. Could this be a 64 bit problem? I don't see anything at all in the logs (only that Network Manager started), so I don't know how to provide more info. # hwinfo --netcard 21: PCI 08.0: 0200 Ethernet controller [Created at pci.301] Unique ID: rBUF.CJ7Zz8d0Pr1 SysFS ID: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:08.0 SysFS BusID: 0000:00:08.0 Hardware Class: network Model: "Micro-Star International MCP55 Ethernet" Vendor: pci 0x10de "nVidia Corporation" Device: pci 0x0373 "MCP55 Ethernet" SubVendor: pci 0x1462 "Micro-Star International Co., Ltd."
