[Bug 297969] New: Openoffice 2. 3 does not refresh screen on x86-64 with nvidia graphics card
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=297969 Summary: Openoffice 2.3 does not refresh screen on x86-64 with nvidia graphics card Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 7 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: eward@novell.com ReportedBy: david.strozzi@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other I insstalled opensuse 10.3 alpha 7, on an amd64 machine (athlon) with an nvidia geforce 6100 graphics chip. I have been running opensuse 10.2 for some time on the same machine (on a different partition). The Openoffice 2.3 that is part of alpha 7 has several problems related to refreshing the display. None of these problems occur in the openoffice 2.0.4 in the opensuse 10.2 on this machine. In particular: 1. The openoffice splash screen is solid black, except the progress indicator bar becomes blue as the launch proceeds. 2. When you type or edit in Writer, your changes do not appear unless that part of the screen is redrawn (e.g., you move the window off and on screen, or drag a dialog box across it). 3. When you search for something and it is found in the text, that text is not highlighted. In OO 2.0.4 it is, and I assume the highlighting is not some feature the user must turn on. Or, if it's optional, it seems emminently helpful for it to be on by default. I listed the severity as 'major' instead of normal since I think it's more than run of the mill. Let me know if I can help more. Thanks and good luck, David Strozzi PS - In general the installation was quite smooth and I am impress w/ alpha 7. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
