Created an attachment (id=338332) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=338332) [details] Logfile of mkinitrd in chrooted environment
There are two bugs in there: 1) mkinitrd does not understand the LABEL=root entry in your fstab 2) the beautify_blockdev() function, which is used as a fallback, returns the /dev/block/9:0, which the rest of the functions can't cope with. This is due to a new udev version probably, /sbin/udevadm info -q symlink now prints this symlink as the first entry. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Will the LABEL= identifier be understood by mkinitrd in the near future? I very much hope so... For more than 2 years now I'm using nothing else but filesystem LABELs in /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/menu.lst. No matter how the disk layout or device names look (esp. when virtualizing), it _always_ works.
