Is it possible to reproduce the issue when launching TB on the machine locally? Did you observe any silent oops messages?
No and no. This only is reproducible if the user's home directory, more precisely the $HOME/.thunderbird directory, is on NFS. It's not 100% reproducible, either. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Rafael: By any chance, did you happen to hit this issue with OpenSUSE 10.3 as well?
No, I haven't installed 10.3 on these boxes yet.
Haven't had much luck in reproducing this issue or getting enough clues.
I understand.
Enabling Client-side debugging before it crashes as mentioned in Comment #4 could help a bit.
Well, I didn't have enough time to investigate the issue more thoroughly. I'll probably try to install a new kernel.org kernel on one of these boxes and see if that helps (modulo other problems that may appear as a result). Please keep the bug open, as the issue is still present, AFAICS, but I'll let you know when I have more information. Thanks! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
