[Bug 397110] New: virt-manager run as user - unhelpful ...
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=397110 Summary: virt-manager run as user - unhelpful ... Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: cgriffin@novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I run virt-manager as a user on a Xen booted kernel, and it gives me this message: "Unable to open a connection to the Xen hypervisor/daemon. Verify that: - A Xen host kernel was booted - The Xen service has been started" with some detailed python exception from virConnectOpenReadOnly (/tmp/livirt_proxy_conn) anyhow - I run the same command as the root user; and bingo life is good. Strangely - then I re-run the same command as an unpriviledged user, and I get a new UI: "Host details" - strangely, this shows (apparently) no useful information, and is rather broken: none of the keybindings eg. alt-F for 'File' work and while it re-draws (ie. it's main-loop is running), it seems completely un-responsive :-) So - this was not obvious behavior: help appreciated unwinding what should happen here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
