The package master-boot-code is the only package that makes it necessary to sync the i586 subdirectory in addition to the x86_64 and noarch subdirectories containing the RPMs. In companies that only run 64 bit systems this is a waste of resources like local mirror disk space and local and remote mirror network band width. I did that at a point in time where it was not the only i586 package needed for a 64bit system (think of OOo, firefox, ...) we just can't make it "noarch" because then it would appear on all other platforms which is not really wanted. building it twice (for i586 and x86_64) does not really hurt, but you'll have to add some tweaks to really make it build on x86_64 since you'll have to link and compile 32bit assembler for that master boot record ... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
