In 11.2 Milestone 5, if I power-cycle the USB drive, I get an error message
from "usb_id can't connect to (a partition)". The partition differs each time,
but the bus and ID numbering makes me wonder if it's using SCSI-1
probing/timeout algorithm(s) that take seemingly forever (bus 10 ?!?). If I
literally poke my way through to loading the 6 installation components, and
then let the green and gray screens come up, it seems to stall on 'probing disk
controllers' unless I poke again. When I do, a pop-up box comes up asking me if
I want the ohci driver (yes!) and then another pop-up for ehci (yes) and
eventually for usb (yes). Then it goes out to probe for the actual disks and
never sees the USB disk (or, perhaps it doesn't want to offer them as possible
installation candidates?).
