I have checked the installation with the tools that come in the DVD. Everything was OK except: package smtp-daemon was not installed. An error appear indicating it is part of the "basic" packages and must be installed. Then I sign to the left and click to "repair" such error. However, the package could not be installed. Later a new error appear indicating that some problems appear with: pam smtp-daemon sysvinit I tried to repair them with the repair tools. However, such packages could not be installed. Internet connection was not always on and the system was running slower than normally and even it was "blocked". That is, from time to time I can not select anything on the task bar nor the "begin" menu and if I used konqueror to access to my folder it remains "thinking" all the time. I also had to activate network connection while it was running some minutes before. Taking care about all the possible problems at the end I found the cable that connect my computer to internet was damaged. So, I decided to replace such cable. Suddenly everything began to work correctly. My conclusion is: A damaged cable that connect you to internet can cause random interruptions of network connection. At those momments, the system can not access to NTFS or LDAP services and it blocks the system (I could not login in a console opened with ALT-F1 as my password was never checked). I hope my comment could be useful for the development team on one hand an also for normal users.
