Just to make clear, the dm stuff is used by many others besides the fake raid stuff. Amongst others multipath and lvm use the dm code. I've now thought about it some more and guess I'll deactivate the cron job for openSUSE and keep it activated it for SLES. and what do you call errant log entries? Oh, and I did not say I'd release an update that deactivated the cron entry. And yet another thing: checking for possibly created xxx.rpmsave or xxx.rpmnew after an update is up to the user!
