[Bug 207130] New: Legacy acpi problems with Rt2500 Driver
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207130 Summary: Legacy acpi problems with Rt2500 Driver Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bruno.antunes@pararede.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I had a problem with the rt2500 driver, that was working in the initial SUSE 10.1 version, but that as stoped working after an update of SuSE. I have reported this issue in the rt2500 project, but they suspect that this seems to be and issue with ACPI and PCMCIA bus on SUSE 10.1 I normally install the RMPMS versions of the drivers found in the packman site but i have also have compiled and installed the drivers manually and face the following problem. When I Insert my card, an Asus WL-107g, in the system log files we can seen that the "driver" will enter in loop with an ACPI: PCI Interrupt event. The card will not initialize: === START HERE === Sep 9 19:00:46 caruncho sux: (to root) bantunes on /dev/pts/0 Sep 9 19:00:58 caruncho kernel: pccard: CardBus card inserted into slot 1 Sep 9 19:00:58 caruncho kernel: rt2500: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207130 ------- Comment #2 from bruno.antunes@pararede.com 2006-09-20 17:23 MST ------- I have reported this same issue initially in the rt2400/rt2500 Linux Driver project. there we can find information that this could be some problem in acpi or pcmcia bus in SUSE, and not in the rt2500 driver.
