I guess this can be fixed in two parts:
1) making sure that we dont need to delte the old directory, by making status.rb module not use the "first" one always
2) making collectd restart if network is restarted, using /etc/sysconfig/network/if-down.d /etc/sysconfig/network/if-up.d/ /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts magic
Opinions?
collectd should be immune to network changes. If this cannot be fixed, I'd vote for option 2). (and network module shouldn't trigger unneeded network changes, i.e. restarting dchp while its running) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

From my point of view it is OK how collectd works here. Klaus and I have the opinion that every module MUST NOT change settings if the user has not changed any value and clicked "next" only. This happens e.g. in the time module and network configuration. I will file a bug for that.
