If i connect to a wireless network, the issues goes away. dmesg snippet: iwl3945: Microcode SW error detected. The issue already managed to freeze my system at least once. The same laptop had been working fine in the same WLAN network with openSUSE 10.3 for quite some time. I'm reopening this bug. Installing the kernel from Factory (2.6.26) fixes it, but this breaks suspend-to-ram (which is another issue). I also managed to fix this by installing compat-wireless package provided by Intel.
