So probably this is as expected?
Yes, this is expected. The help text says "To import fingerprint files from different installations, choose the directory where the files are located.", which means the directory is really meant only to contain your own *.bir that are just copied to /etc/pam_thinkfinger. Maybe the help text should be clearer. I'll fix the selection of directory in YaST (and also check for presence of *.bir files in import directory). Or maybe the module will be redesigned for next release, so this would look better anyway. The rest of the report is for the fingerprint authentication itself, not for its YaST configuration... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

When I swipe my finger when starting yast from kde and being asked for the root password, it says "wrong password" once and does not react to the next swipes. When I select "cancel" and start yast again, this starts from the beginning.
Unfortunately, the KDE applications are not yet supporting anything other than password authentication. Thus, ThinkFinger does not work. As there is nothing on my side I could do, I'd suggest filing a new report for the KDE guys. Closing as INVALID. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
