It is working fine for me in beta 3. Could you please provide E2K_DEBUG traces for both evolution and exchange process. Before starting evolution from terminal,use export E2K_DEBUG=4. You will find exchange process in /usr/lib/evolution/2.12 directory,here also do export E2K_DEBUG=4 before starting exchange process.

Evolution seems not to honor proxy environment variables. My shell and KDE has proxy set up right. Now I started gnome-control-center (I'm using KDE otherwise) and set up proxy and no_proxy there. NOW evolution is able to connect and authenticate. Heck, why didn't I think of this before... Sorry for the noise.
