I just upgraded the kernel too(from the kerbel/stable/standart repo) yesterday with the same nvidia driver 304.60. In 2 days i will post if i encounter issues or not. So far under kernel 3.6, offered by the 3rd party kernel repo, i have encountered only one freeze for each of the days i have used it. AS far as i can grasp it happens after closing an application and/or activating the hot corner of the desktop. Late this day i have one more random freeze even after changing back to the stock kernel offered by openSUSE 12.2. IMHO i belive that the latest stable nvidia driver i better improvement but still one may get at least one random crash. Kados i can only hope that the next stable verson of the nvidia driver solves this even better.
