[Bug 257339] New: Thai combining characters don't combine
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=257339 Summary: Thai combining characters don't combine Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Keywords: Thai Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME - Platform AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome-platform@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jon@mysql.com QAContact: qa@suse.de The Thai alphabet has numerous combining characters. These include vowel and tone marks. Vowels should be displayed above or below the consonant with which they're associated, depending on the vowel in question. Tone marks should be displayed above the vowel (or above the consonant, where the vowel should appear below the consonant). However, in all cases, the vowels and tone marks are displayed following the consonants. I have noticed this in numerous Gnome/GTK applications, including Firefox, gucharmap, and gaim. OpenOffice.org (Novell Build 2.0.4.7) is also affected. This occurs for both Unicode and TIS encodings. Thai text is displayed correctly in KDE apps including Konqueror, kwrite, koffice. This issue also affects Gnome/GTK apps for openSUSE 10.2 final on the x86_64 platform. This was not an issue with SuSE 10.0 final (32-bit). Email me for screenshots and additional info as necessary. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
