No, I don't, unless reminded. You did not. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have installed all debug packages required by gdb, but as the crash is random, I have been unable to capture it yet. I got one outside of gdb, though.
Is there a procedure to capture backtraces when a program crashes, called outside of gdb, ie, from the hot key "ALT-F2"?
xfce4-appfinder is a daemon, after being started once e.g. from the menu or via Alt+F2 it runs in the background, you can attach gdb to it following the instructions in the wiki. It would also be useful if you tried to reproduce with the xfce4-appfinder 4.10.1 package from the X11:xfce repo, according to the changelog two crasher bugs were fixed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Ah, fantastic! Done. Now to wait.

Ah. Well, that update will have to wait a bit, I can't restart the session right now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

No need to restart the session, install the update and execute xfce4-appfinder --replace (In reply to comment #10)
Notice that the required XFCE repositories have no publicity.
They are not listed here:
https://en.opensuse.org/Package_repositories
so they don't even have the status of "semiofficial" repositories.
nor here:
https://en.opensuse.org/Additional_package_repositories
and even here they don't appear on the top level as do KDE or Gnome:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/
They appear hidden on the second level under X11. This should not happen to a desktop that is listed by YaST during installation.
That is on purpose because people are supposed to use the packages that are in the released product unless they want to help testing and bugfixing on top of Factory. X11:xfce is primarily a development project for Factory. I do provide builds of X11:xfce for supported openSUSE releases on a best effort basis so people who know what they're doing may install newer Xfce pacakges on top of a openSUSE release but I have zero intention to support that and hence do not endorse it for casual users.
Even worse, the https://en.opensuse.org/Xfce page does not list any XFCE repo.
The Xfce page is outdated, useless and needs to be deleted but I don't have the powers to do that. I created Portal:Xfce a few days ago which does mention X11:xfce and indicates its purpose. If you want to discuss this further lets please continue on the opensuse-xfce@ list. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
