I can't believe this bug is still present. I created a Submenu under "Games" called "First Person Shooters". Now KPatience and "Card Games" no longer appear in the "Games" menu, as it was the only category with a single item on my current test install. Worse, it appears to affect the Kickoff menu if you change back to it afterwards.
