[Bug 800382] New: With autologin enabled, there is no way to login after logging out
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800382 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800382#c0 Summary: With autologin enabled, there is no way to login after logging out Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 12.3 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Default GNOME install from LiveCD, openSUSE 12.3 Beta 1. One local user only, autologin enabled. Now, when I logout and click on my user-name on the gdm screen, nothing happens. It looks like it is about to get to the stage where I will be asked to enter my user password, but it never shows the password field, and gets back to the initial gdm login screen again. Not just for the user who has autologin enabled, even clicking on "Not Listed" does nothing. Also, if I now try to restart the computer from the gdm screen it asks for the root password saying "Authentication required for reboot since other users are logged in". Actually no one is logged in. The only workaround is to disable autologin for all users as far as I see. Disable autologin for all users and restart computer. Then everything is back to as it should be (re-enabling autologin and doing restart, leads back to problem). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enable autologin for a user (actually I tried on a single user system only) 2.Log out to the gdm screen, 3.Select your user-name from the list of users in the gdm screen Actual Results: Password field not presented, log-in never happens; screen gets back to initial gdm login screen again. Expected Results: Present password field and upon correct authentication, log in user. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
