YOu will notice that the items in the software section are highlighted however the focus does not move from the software button that has just been activated. I.e. Visually on screen, the user is shown the options in the software category however the screen reader user is shown nothing. The focus should at a minimum be set to the first element of the software section. I have filled bug 418032, to get those guys to use zenity, which works with Orca, when available. (There was already a request to use zenity, but it was dropped because the only benefit was that it was prettier -- I guess this has more chances to get through.) Your particular problem with the Online Update is very unlikely related.
