[Bug 653522] New: Qt-based apps ignore keyboard layout for shortcuts (e.g. C-S)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=653522 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=653522#c0 Summary: Qt-based apps ignore keyboard layout for shortcuts (e.g. C-S) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: amarjan@pobox.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 SUSE/3.6.12-1.2 Firefox/3.6.12 Until last week, was using only US Qwerty layout. Discovered the Colemak layout and configured it in KDE system settings. Switching to Colemak is successful, with one exception: Qt-based apps (including all KDE apps) keep shortcuts bound to Qwerty layout. For instance, Colemak moves the "i" key to the "l" position. So in Dolphin, you'd expect to get the filter bar, but instead you get focus in the location bar. Non-Qt apps (Firefox, OpenOffice, etc.) behave correctly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add a non-Qwerty keyboard layout (like Colemak or Dvorak) in KDE system settings 2. Switch to the other keyboard layout from Qwerty via the system tray applet 3. Try to activate a shortcut for a key that's been moved in the other keyboard layout (e.g. C-I in Dolphin) Actual Results: The shortcut is activated per Qwerty layout - focus is given to the location bar Expected Results: Should activate the shortcut per the current layout - display the filter bar There's a thread on the KDE forums from over a year ago that seems to describe this problem: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=32756 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
