I made another verified copy from the md5 verified ISO with the same results - hangs on UDEV I then put the verified DVD into my working 64 bit system that has been running 12.3, restarted, went to installation, and less than a second after UDEV appeared on the screen, it switched to the graphics interface with the green band on the bottom. I then cancelled the install. I will wait for 13.1 and check that out. The one with log file is rather problematic in that there is no way to read the log file. It never returns to a prompt to then use 'cat iso.log, and only rebooting allows any actio, which wipes out the ramdisk. I then did another attempt with 12.2, and it was successful. udev completed properly, and I have a openSUSE 12.2 with kde3 running properly on my laptop. My origional comments were on 12.2 were due to the long delay within the install splash screen where the multiple 'plasma' balls move around and finally come together. It took a long time so I assumed a lockup. Just try to boot the DVD, nothing else. It has systemd/udev 204 and if that doesn't work, must be something wrong someplace. Did you try to test also Fedora 19? It's somewhat similar, at least to systemd/udev part. Continuing with a process that fails as the only method is a black eye on Linux.
