Bugzilla isn't the problem. Firefox is. I need to download and decompress each compressed attachment. It is a major hassle. But of course nobody tells people that ;-( If your computer freezes, do you get a blinking LED, which indicates a kernel panic? Could you recompile the kernel with CONFIG_USB_DEBUG? Also, how long did you wait? USB error handling can take up to 2 minutes. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=264644 ------- Comment #7 from jdd@dodin.org 2007-05-02 06:27 MST ------- Created an attachment (id=136968) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=136968&action=view) comments inside the file I have a very curious behavior. If I do like I say in the file, syncing the key before removing, when I plug the key in nothing happen. no led blinking, no mouse movement (even after one hour :-(). But... If I make my dmesg > /media/disk.test.txt (when the key is mounted after rmmod modprobe for uhci_hcd) and unplug the key immediately (the led if steady on). Of course the writing didn't occure if, at the moment, I plug again the key, the computer crash (no mouse...), but the led start blinking fast then slower and keep blinking slow I can compile, but the computer is not loaded for dev (no gcc, no source), so this need much work. not any boot option? thanks jdd -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=264644 ------- Comment #8 from oneukum@novell.com 2007-05-08 02:11 MST ------- No, there's no boot option to enable USB debugging. You might try setting /sys/module/usb_storage/parameters/delay_use to 10 before you try recompiling. And now what? when I plug the key the computer still freeze instantly (no message) What can I do? just a note: I could get a hand on a PCI usb card that works perfectly, so I have no more real need of this debugging. I can still (until june 20, after I wont have anymore the computer near me) try to find the bug, given I also tried it with SELS and it is here also :-( but feel free to close the bug if you have better things to do :-)) thanks jdd -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
