[Bug 301992] New: graphics card cannot be configured during installation
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=301992#c1 Summary: graphics card cannot be configured during installation Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tilman@imap.cc QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer Intel DQ965GF motherboard, on-board Intel graphics not used, Matrox G550 PCIe graphics card, Acer AL1721 17" LCD. The installation itself runs correctly in 1280x1024 GUI mode, but at the end of the installation, the Hardware Configuration screen displays: * Grafikkarte: * Monitor: (Bildseitenformat Nicht konfiguriert) - (800x600) * Farbtiefe: 16 bit (65536 Farben) Clicking on the title "Grafikkarten" pops up a message box: Klicken Sie zum Ändern auf die unterstrichene Einstellung. [OK] (click on the underlined setting to change) - which is what I just did - and after clicking "OK" the same page reappears. The same happens if I click on the "Change" menubutton at the bottom and select "Graphics card" there. Meanwhile, console 1 displays the messages: Died at /usr/share/sax/init.pl line 643. ISaX: could not import file: /var/cache/sax/files/config at /usr/sbin/isax line 199. The problem here is that X-Server which is started for the purpose of the log analyse did not start as it does in former versions Which driver does this X-server use? How can I reproduce this?
