Try taking opensuse into a corporate where the MS proxy doesn't let your direct network traffic through, it's just timeout after timeout, worse than when there is no network as there is a network but it treats it like opensuse repositories are down which takes so long you don't even bother going into the software selection. Perhaps when this is enhanced we could find a detection method that will work for when the site is down or inaccessible too?
