[Bug 216499] New: Select java-plugin by default in the non_oss_java pattern
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216499 Summary: Select java-plugin by default in the non_oss_java pattern Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 plus Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Patterns AssignedTo: aj@novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de QAContact: aj@novell.com It seems that the non_oss_java pattern selects only the java-1_5_0-sun package by default for installation. On i586, I'd like to see java-1_5_0-sun-plugin selected by default as well. This package is small, should not do any harm and is something that many users will expect from a Java Environment. It should be "recommended" instead of "suggested" (to make applets work out of the box). On x86_64, it's exactly reversed: There is no java-1_5_0-sun-plugin for x86_64, but the package manager displays the i586 package instead because it thinks the architectures are "compatible", although they are not. It should not be displayed at all instead of "suggested" (because it can't work). (This all assumes that differentiating patterns per-architecture is possible, I don't know if it really is) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
