It splashes the message that network settings can only be changed from network-manager when network-manager is enabled. This worked in openSUSE 11.0. ==================================================================== ------- Comment #7 From Freek de Kruijf 2008-12-07 06:01:02 MST [reply] ------- Private I did an installation using the NET x86_64 CD. I configured the network with a fixed IP-address etc. After the first boot from disk NM was in charge, using DHCP. However you have the option to configure the network again. In the configuration the old data from my initial setting, at least the fixed IP-address/netmask were shown in the configuration. However in the console <Ctrl><Alt>F2 it was clear the interface and most likely NM used DHCP. In the network configuration I disabled NM filled in IP-address etc. Finally I could login for the first time as a KDE user. At that time NM was still in charge and my fixed network setting were ignored. I had to do a reboot before mu settings worked. This is not what used to be the behaviour of YaST, that when you change network settings, except enabling/disabling IPv6, these setting become active after leaving YaST or rather after finishing the network settings module of YaST. ======================================================================= Please check whether the described scenario is intended. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
