From 192.168.1.6: icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable From 192.168.1.6 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
192.168.1.3 is my hard-cabled printer - same thing with the router and other known nodes on the network. "ping google.com" results in dead silence. I still cannot manipulate various other networking parameters under NM like I used to under openSUSE 11.1 - e.g., I am unable to turn off ipv6. And, there is still no automatic failover to wireless when I unplug the Ethernet cable. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hi, Jeff.
Thanks for the reply. But even if I switch to use ifup, I still cannot make the interface start at boot time (I've tried "on boot" and also "on cable connection", with no success). The interface only cames up after logging in (as root or as user).
Would it be possible to boot the box into the runlevel 3 ? Just write "3" at the end of the line of the "Boot options" in the "Grub menu" when you restart your box. You shall end up with the login: prompt. Login as root and check the interface with ifconfig and "hwinfo --wlan". Could you manage it ? According on the results we will proceed and isolate the problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
