The following fails: # netcat -v www.whatismyip.org 80
How does it fail? What output do you expect and what do you get?
I attach the strace output in connect.out showing that:
access("/etc/ld.so.preload", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
Nothing wrong with that, as /etc/ld.so.preload may exist, but doesn't have to. To me your strace output looks like www.whatismyip.org was unreachable at the moment you recorded the trace, which is certainly not netcat's fault. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
