Yenta: Raising subordinate bus# of parent bus (#01) from #05 to #09 in your boot log when booting without pci=assign-busses which come from the proper workaround for the issue which is indicated by the 'bus hidden'-messages which you quote in your initial comment. If you do not see any bad consequences of not using pci=assign-busses (compared to using it), and also the CardBus slot of your Vaio works with PCI cardbus cards (for my interrest there, it's sufficient if they are found by the kernel and e.g. shown by lspci or or other programs), then we can likely remove this warning or better update it and change it to a pure debug message. Do you have Cardbus cards to test and are they detected? Note: Older PCMCIA cards are not of use for this test because they are e.g. never shown in lspci as they are essentially 16-bit ISA cards, not 32-PCI cards like true CardBus cards. Visually there is no difference except that the newer CardBus cards (from my observation) often has some yellow/goldish metal where the socket is where the old PCMCIA cards (used for serial ports and old network cards) use just plain silverish metal surface near the socket. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

"Do you have Cardbus cards to test and are they detected?" I just have a D-Link USB 2.0 adapter, output from lspci: 02:00.0 USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB (rev 41) 02:00.1 USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB (rev 41) 02:00.2 USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB 2.0 (rev 02) So everything seems to be fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
