ypbind has "$remote_fs". $remote_fs is defined as remote network is available.
Not exactly. $remote_fs defines that $local_fs and remote_fs on nfs or smb inclusive /usr on a $remote_fs is available. It implicitely includes $network, that provides essential networking, where we support /usr mounts over. There are two network scripts, because some of the interfaces require utils from /usr: - /etc/init.d/network: starts all interfaces that do _not_ require stuff from /usr, that is $remote_fs. Basically this are: normal ethernet plus: vlan, bond, bridges except those, with ports/slave ifaces, that require stuff from /usr, e.g. tap, wlan. Required-Start: $local_fs dbus - /etc/init.d/network: starts all another interfaces (wlan, ppp, isdn, tunnels) _or_ the NetworkManager. Required-Start: $network $remote_fs haldaemon We can create a tap interface already in network, but there is also a daemon operating it required and they are AFIAK all in /usr. For ypbind, a "$remote_fs" is sufficient when we do not support YP with the NetworkManager, wlan, ... But when we support them, also a ShouldStart: network-remotefs is required, so it gets started when the complete network is started. Should NIS be supported on WLAN -- without NetworkManager?
Doesn't really make sense. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
