Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. The file /usr/share/applications/YaST.desktop is set up so that yast only appears in KDE and Gnome. I think that the solution to this bug is to remove the "Only Show In" line from this file altogether. Fri Aug 24 14:10:08 CEST 2007 - sh@suse.de - Don't show menu entry in desktops other than KDE or GNOME (won't run properly anyway without root permission which is a non-standard extension of the desktop file format) that is why OnlyShowIn line has been added into YaST desktop file. Iow, there is no such thing as kdesu or gnomesu in Xfce (not that I know of), so even if YaST's .desktop was modified to appear in Xfce menu, it would run as non-root user and show only modules that do not require root privileges.
