[Bug 396202] New: NTP fails to start and clock is ahead with 3 hours
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=396202 Summary: NTP fails to start and clock is ahead with 3 hours Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: amantia@kde.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- This happens on two PCs as well, one of which had a clean beta3 install upgraded to the current factory. In both cases networkmanager is used, but I tried also with ifconfig. On boot rcntp fails to start. This results in a long delay until you can log in to a terminal console (Xorg login works) and the clock is ahead with 3 hours (I am in GMT+2, my system uses local time). The first vt shows "ntpd: time slew +" and some value. Network is up at that moment and a further "rcntp restart" works fine. I tried to remove ntp package and config files and reinstall it, tried to use fixed time server or a random one, no luck, my time is wrong after restart, until I manually restart ntp. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
