after starting + 30sec +- 5sec.
What ?!?
if start quake without sound looks good.
Ok. So we have a sound related issue?
but if i this: --- echo "quake3.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss echo "quake3.x86 0 0 disable" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss
What's the meaning of these settings?
./quake3 +set s_musicvolume -
What does that do?

This is an old kludge to make quake accessing directly OSS interface without the format or rate conversions. It's needed on some apps to allow OSS mmap. But, now quake or whatever should work without OSS. Try to remove OSS (rmmod snd-pcm-oss and rmmod snd-mixer-oss) and doesn't it work better? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Define the meaning of "a system crash" more exactly. Can you login remotely and check the kernel or X logs?
This question is still open ... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I don't know which version you are using, but there are versions of quake using libao or other engine supporting multiple backends. Check your setup.
it looks like i have almost last version of Q3. exists 1.32c - but there are only security bugfixes... ..and can i some how return snd-pcm-oss and snd-mixer-oss? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

i deleted all and then 2 times crash
I can't find any lines related to the crash. (In reply to comment #12)

del old and then 2 crashes
If there is a crash I need /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old (Xserver is restarted and overwrites existing /var/log/Xorg.0.log, but before it makes a backup to /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If a X crash happens ... it is a X bug and should be addressed here.
Is it a crash or a freeze? Still not known. Also we don't have CStrike available for testing. So how should we debug that issue? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
