[Bug 221820] New: Nautilus fails to open when sync to Blackberry.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221820 Summary: Nautilus fails to open when sync to Blackberry. Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SLED 10 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: imaginebox@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Using a Blackberry Pearl (model 8100) from RIM I can successfully sync via bluetooth to the workstations which are running SLED 10 and OpenSUSE 10.1 but I'm unable to locate the device in Nautilus. Also there is no usual pop up Nautilus window as is displayed when using a SD memory card in the card reader or any shortcut icon on the desktop as normally displayed when inserting a video or audio CD/DVD. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I need some information: - How do you sync with Bluetooth? - Can you while syncing (or having a BT-connection between computer and Blackberry if the time of syncing is too short) please run /usr/bin/lshal and attach the output to this bug? (e.g. type in shell: /usr/bin/lshal > /tmp/lshal.output) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221820 ------- Comment #5 from imaginebox@gmail.com 2007-02-18 17:07 MST ------- SLED and OpenSUSE (both using Gnome desktop) detect the Blackerry device (RIM 8100 ) correctly as I can right mouse click on a directory folder such as "/home/username/Music/Gwen Stefani" then select "Send to via Bluetooth" and "RIM 8100" is listed. Unfortunately the only option I have in the Bluetooth file transfer settings is to send the files compressed (ie: filename.zip) which I believe is the reason the RIM device is stopping the transfer. I'm going to check with RIM to confirm whether their Blackberry devices such as the RIM 8100 can accept compressed zip files. Is there any way to transfer files via Bluetooth with out compressing the files? It would make it simpler for file transfers to have Nautilus list a directory folder or icon shortcut (like how a DVD ROM is listed when a DVD is detected) for handheld devices which are detected via Bluetooth. This would be similar to how it's viewed on Windows XP and Windows Vista. Since both the RIM device and the workstation Bluetooth USB detect each other correctly there must be a way of making this possible. As for lshal I've attached the log below. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I think we can consider this closed/obsolete and take new bugs against 11.0 now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
