Just an update on the status of this one: I've worked with upstream on resolving these problems. Quite some quota fixes for ext4 should be in our 11.2 kernel so it would be helpful if you tested a kernel from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kernel/kotd/openSUSE-11.2/ and reported whether it fixes the problem for you.
There are a few more fixes which aren't in 11.2 kernel because they broke other things and it's not yet clear when all the mess gets cleaned up...
FYI: I had the same EXT4/Quota problem, followed your suggestion and it seems to have corrected the problem. The problem was occurring in the x86_64 kernel 2.6.31.12-0.1-default, and so far. seems to have disappeared after I installed 2.6.31.12-0.1.99.6.6e2e499-default. Hi Dino, can you also had content of
cat /etc/fstab & cat /proc/mounts
Also if you have special harddisk layout ( raid, lvm etc .. )
I can reproduce it, and sometimes (on certain partition ) it works ...
On this box I doesn't have raid or lvm, may be just a bit more partitions, than usual. cat /etc/fstab # /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part10 / ext4 acl,user_xattr,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0 1 1 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part10 / ext4 acl,user_xattr 1 1 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part1 /mnt/C vfat iocharset=utf8,codepage=866,shortname=mixed,users,gid=100,umask=002,rw,exec,utf8=true 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part5 /mnt/D vfat iocharset=utf8,codepage=866,shortname=mixed,,users,gid=100,umask=002,rw,exec,utf8=true 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part6 /mnt/E vfat iocharset=utf8,codepage=866,shortname=mixed,,users,gid=100,umask=002,rw,exec,utf8=true 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part7 /mnt/F vfat iocharset=utf8,codepage=866,shortname=mixed,,users,gid=100,umask=002,rw,exec,utf8=true 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part8 /mnt/G ntfs-3g defaults,locale=uk_UA.UTF-8 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part11 /mnt/H ntfs-3g defaults,locale=uk_UA.UTF-8 0 0 /dev/fd0 /media/floppy-0 auto auto,defaults,users 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST31000520AS_9VX0G9XY-part9 swap swap defaults 0 0 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0 debugfs /sys/kernel/debug debugfs noauto 0 0 usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0 cat /proc/mounts rootfs / rootfs rw 0 0 udev /dev tmpfs rw,relatime,nr_inodes=0,mode=755 0 0 /dev/sda10 / ext4 rw,relatime,user_xattr,acl,barrier=1,data=ordered,jqfmt=vfsv0,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group 0 0 /root/proc /proc proc rw,relatime 0 0 sysfs /sys sysfs rw,relatime 0 0 debugfs /sys/kernel/debug debugfs rw,relatime 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,relatime,gid=5,mode=620,ptmxmode=000 0 0 /dev/sda1 /mnt/C vfat rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,gid=100,fmask=0002,dmask=0002,allow_utime=0020,codepage=cp866,iocharset=utf8,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0 /dev/sda5 /mnt/D vfat rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,gid=100,fmask=0002,dmask=0002,allow_utime=0020,codepage=cp866,iocharset=utf8,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0 /dev/sda6 /mnt/E vfat rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,gid=100,fmask=0002,dmask=0002,allow_utime=0020,codepage=cp866,iocharset=utf8,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0 /dev/sda7 /mnt/F vfat rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,gid=100,fmask=0002,dmask=0002,allow_utime=0020,codepage=cp866,iocharset=utf8,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0 /dev/sda8 /mnt/G fuseblk rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,allow_other,blksize=4096 0 0 /dev/sda11 /mnt/H fuseblk rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,allow_other,blksize=4096 0 0 fusectl /sys/fs/fuse/connections fusectl rw,relatime 0 0 securityfs /sys/kernel/security securityfs rw,relatime 0 0 /root/proc /var/lib/ntp/proc proc rw,relatime 0 0 rpc_pipefs /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs rpc_pipefs rw,relatime 0 0 gvfs-fuse-daemon /home/user01/.gvfs fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,user_id=1000,group_id=100 0 0 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
