The MM was started by NetworkManager, if boot without NetworkManager the ModemManager shouldn't be started. But if you kill the NetworkManager when running the ModemManager still running.
So do you view the modem-manager's process after boot up?
I'm not sure I completely understand the question, but: 1) yes, I have a running modem-manager process. 2) no, I did not touch nor kill the NetworkManager. 3) in KDE task manager, right hand side, I have a white cross on a red background that indicates "No network interfaces". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Per,
I just switch to ifup mode from NetworkManager, it works fine for my GNOME Desktop in 12.1. :)
So is it related to KDE, and every boot up could find the modem-manager process? And do you know where could configure the startup program in KDE like gnome-session-properties in GNOME? Just doubt this program.
Yes, modem-manager is started on every boot-up. I don't know where it is configured, but surely that is irrelevant. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
