Another visible aspect is that the KDM window appears but you can just go to the new (second) session on tty8. I unfortunately don't have more info. Please tell me any log file that may be useful or any debug to enable. I kept a copy of the other Xorg log files just in case. At first, I could not reproduce it. Then I started Skype and it came up.
