This only occurs when there are no tabs present. Maybe some sort of gradient should be used in the window color, a different default theme, or change the color of the page. That's basically a KDE thing IMO. Firefox gets the themeing from Gtk and when running under KDE that's somehow faked with qtcurve (or other layers). I have no idea if that's a KDE theme thing or an issue with qtcurve (or whatever is used nowadays).
